Who would have thought before the season started that the marquee SEC game in Week 5 would be the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Texas A&M Aggies?

Regardless, all eyes will be on Arlington, Texas come Saturday afternoon as the Razorbacks look to ride their three-game winning streak into AT&T Stadium and pull of the upset against the No. 6 ranked Aggies. Before the two teams kick it off, we envision just what’ll happen during the game for the Hogs.

Here are four bold predictions for the Razorbacks in their Lone Star State showdown with the Aggies.

Bold prediction #1: Myles Garrett gets no sacks

The Aggies standout freshman defensive end has been an absolute nightmare for opposing defensive lines. Garrett leads the Aggies with 5.5 sacks and his unique combination of size, speed and strength helps him win most battles along the line of scrimmage.

However, Garrett has yet to face an offensive line like the one Arkansas puts out on the field. More than likely, it’ll be the sophomore Dan Skipper opposite Garrett. Skipper stands at a pedestrian 6-foot-10, 326-pounds, leaving him more than capable of fending off the freshman phenom. Garrett is a talented player, but he’ll fail to rise up to the challenge against the Razorbacks’ offensive line this Saturday.

Bold prediction #2: Brandon Allen is the player of the game for Arkansas

There’s no question about the primary focus of the Arkansas offense. Still, they need a capable quarterback and fortunately for the Hogs, they have one in Brandon Allen.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Texas A&M load up the box to try and limit the production of Arkansas’ running backs. If that’s the case, Allen will need to step up. He’s got very underrated arm strength and his weapons in the receiving game are more than able to make big plays as well. If he’s able to suck the defense in on the run, he can certainly take advantage of the deep ball opportunities. I expect Allen to have a few big plays and if he stays relatively turnover-free, he’ll be the player of the game for the Hogs.

Bold prediction #3: There are at least 10 in-game shots of Jerry Jones from the CBS broadcasting crew

CBS just won’t be able to resist themselves. It’s probably the easiest prediction I’ve made all season.

Bold prediction #4: Hogs take down the Aggies

Yes, Texas A&M has an incredible passing offense and the Razorbacks secondary isn’t the best group of defensive backs in the conference. Still, I think Tevin Mitchel’s presence will help the Hogs immensely, something which wasn’t seen against Auburn because of Mitchel’s absence.

And while the Aggies have a great offense, many forget that Arkansas’ offense is right on their heels, scoring 48.3 points per game. A&M’s run defense was the worst in the SEC last year, which is why you see so many younger players in their two-deep depth chart this season. Behind Arkansas’ offensive line, the punishing running style of Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams and the timely passing of Allen, I believe the Hogs are more than capable of stringing out several long drives throughout the game and slowing down a fast Texas A&M offense as a result. The Aggies are a good team, but in their first big test in nearly a month, Kevin Sumlin’s team won’t be good enough.

Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema has his team as focused as they’ve ever been during his tenure at Arkansas and it’ll be his old school, traditional football game plan that emerges victorious this weekend and the Razorbacks jump up into the Top 25.
