Arkansas’ spring roster is about to get a break from football already.

The Hogs held their last practice before spring break. Arkansas will return for spring practice No. 4 on March 31.

According to ArkansasRazorbacks.com, the cornerbacks had a very good day. Corner DJ Dean picked off a deep pass down the sideline. While Robb Smith improved the secondary tremendously last season, the Hogs still stand to get much better in 2015. Arkansas finished as the SEC’s No. 5 overall pass defense last season. This spring is about finding playmakers at wide receiver.

Former quarterback Damon Mitchell also stood out Thursday, and he continues to show he’s a formidable playmaker. With the news of Kendrick Edwards’ dismissal, Mitchell stands to play a bigger role this season. He’s having a great spring so far.

One of the biggest stories during spring practice has been the shuffling of the offensive line. Denver Kirkland moved to left tackle, and Dan Skipper moved to right tackle. Sebastian Tretola is playing left guard, and Frank Ragnow is playing right guard. Mitch Smothers is playing center. It’s an interesting shuffling and combination by the Hogs during spring practice, but all signs indicate it’s working, and the coaching staff is very confident in this group.

Arkansas will take a week off for spring break, and the team will hold its annual Red-White Game on April 25 at 1:00 p.m.
