In desperate need to bulk up on the defensive line, on Monday the Razorbacks landed the commitment of a player that should help in that area as Baton Rouge native Troy James gave his pledge to join Arkansas’ latest recruiting class.

James held a ceremony at his Madison Prep Academy high school to declare himself a future Hog:

The 6-foot-4, 275-pound James rates as a three-star prospect, the No. 56 strong-side defensive end in the nation and Louisiana’s No. 60 overall recruit in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. James picked the Razorbacks over offers from NC State, Kansas, Indiana, Memphis, San Diego State, and Louisiana Tech, among others. James had been committed to Kansas but decommitted shortly after visiting Fayetteville back in October.

Arkansas is now up to 20 total commitments for the 2017 recruiting class but has only two defensive linemen currently in the fold. Don’t be surprised to see the Hogs target a few more bodies before National Signing Day arrives.
