Art Briles says 'there's a chance' at Baylor-Arkansas matchup in 2019
Often criticized for weak non-conference scheduling, Baylor may be adding a team on the rise from the SEC to the mix for the 2019 season.
Bears coach Art Briles revealed Friday his program is hoping to finalize a neutral-site battle against Arkansas in Houston in an effort to boost its overall resume in hopes of strengthening its College Football Playoff chances.
During Q&A at Houston Touchdown Club luncheon, Art Briles said “there’s a chance” Baylor could play Arkansas in Houston in 2019.

The Razorbacks are already scheduled to open against Michigan in 2019 as the second game of a home-and-home with the Wolverines. That game would need to be moved and there’s no room on Michigan’s schedules for a third Power 5 opponent during the non-conference portion in 2020 or 2021.

Arkansas has a 35-33-2 all-time record vs. Baylor, but lost its last meeting against the Bears, 9-5, in 1991.
If this game happens and both coaches are still at their respective programs, Briles would be entering his 12th season at Baylor and Bret Bielema his seventh with the Razorbacks.
