Hogs recreate epic 1999 TD pass during 2016 spring game
The fourth-quarter touchdown connection between former Arkansas QB Clint Stoerner and WR Anthony Lucas that led to an upset of No. 3 Tennessee back in 1999 is one of the most satisfying moments in recent Razorbacks football history.
It was retribution for an epic collapse at Neyland Stadium the prior season, which will forever haunt Razorbacks fans.
Here’s a look back at those moments, courtesy of the Razorbacks’ official YouTube channel:
Nearly 17 years later, Stoerner and Lucas got back on the field during Arkansas’ spring game to recreate the magic.
Here’s a look at the play, which was a surprise treat for all the fans in attendance at Razorback Stadium on Saturday:

Some credit is due to both Stoerner and Lucas getting out there and connecting on the long throw and catch once again. 17 years is a long time ago, and that throw wasn’t exactly an easy one.
Arkansas coach Bret Bielema gave the blessing for a recreation, but admitted he was unaware of the play until Stoerner pitched the idea.
Bielema knew about Clint Stoerner's 1998 experience but didn't know about the 1999 play until Clint pitched the idea to relive it today
