The return of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ starting running back meant the end of the line for a former Arkansas star.

Le’Veon Bell was with Steelers on Friday, and that means that Knile Davis was expendable. Davis signed with the team in March. He’s played five NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers. He’s rushed for 805 yards in his career with 11 touchdowns.

Davis started in the team’s third preseason game, but the team has opted to go with other choices as the backs behind Bell, Pro Football Talk reported. Among them are third-round pick James Conner, Fitzgerald Toussaint and undrafted rookies Terrell Watson and Trey Williams.

Davis had 20 carries for 68 yards for Pittsburgh this preseason.
