Arkansas’ secondary may be struggling, but the clear bright spot so far for the Hogs has been the play of quarterback Brandon Allen and the three running backs.

Early on, Arkansas was able to establish the run game early. Alex Collins and Korliss Marshall combined for 60 rushing yards on four carries during the team’s second drive of the game, which led to a 14-yard touchdown pass to tight end Hunter Henry.

Auburn’s front seven has had a terrible time containing the Hogs’ three running backs, which has opened up things for Allen and their tight ends via the play action. Both of his touchdown passes have been on play action calls.

Heading into halftime, here are the individual offensive stats:

  • Brandon Allen – 9-for-14, 116 yards and 2 TDs
  • Alex Collins – 6 carries, 70 yards
  • Korliss Marshall – 6 carries, 36 yards
  • Jonathan Williams – 7 carries, 34 yards and 1 TD

Arkansas heads into the half tied with Auburn at 21-21.
