When Dre Greenlaw got hurt during the sixth game of this season, Arkansas’ defense suffered tremendously.

The sophomore linebacker is likely the most talented member of the defensive unit. He flies all over the field and plays with a tremendous amount of physicality.

A foot injury has hampered his second year in Fayetteville. However, there’s still a chance he may feature in the Belk Bowl versus Virginia Tech.

Greenlaw participated in practice on Saturday:

Speaking to 247Sports, linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves delved into Greenlaw’s current injury status — and whether he thinks the sophomore will indeed play in the bowl game:

“He got out there today a little bit. He looked good, ran around a little bit. I think tomorrow will tell the tale on how sore he gets or whatever happens there. That will tell us what we need to do. Whether we need to keep going forward or not. I feel like if he’s healthy enough to play we’d like to get him some reps.”

Getting Greenlaw back healthy would be a major boon for Arkansas — especially considering Hokies’ signal-caller Jerod Evans is a major threat to run the football.
