Arkansas QB Ty Storey won the Razorbacks’ starting job early last year and spent the bulk of the time as the Hogs starter in 2018.

However, heading into Year 2 under coach Chad Morris, there’s a lot of uncertainty, especially around the quarterback position. Morris’s system needs a versatile quarterback to function properly, and Storey may not be that guy.

Per a report from SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic on Wednesday night, Storey is exploring a transfer and has his name in the NCAA transfer portal:

With fellow part-time starter Cole Kelley already having transferred this offseason, Storey’s decision is a bit bizarre. The other quarterbacks on Arkansas’s roster are highly touted freshman Connor Noland, freshman John Stephen Jones, sophomore Jack Lindsey and redshirt freshman Daulton Hyatt.

However, Morris and the Hogs have 4-star dual-threat freshman KJ Jefferson coming in this fall, so it seems Noland and Jefferson will now battle it out for the starting job. Of course, Arkansas could also go the grad transfer route, and have been connected to potential Texas transfer Shane Buechele by oddsmakers.
