Former Arkansas RB Denzell Evans appears to be heading to SMU, indicated by RB Rawleigh Williams III wishing him well Saturday.

PonyStampede.com confirmed that Evans will be joining SMU as a graduate transfer. He will have two years of eligible remaining, able to begin this fall.

Evans appeared in six games last season as a redshirt sophomore, primarily on special teams, recording six carries for 48 yards in the game against UT Martin. He won’t be the only SEC West transfer joining the Mustangs, as former LSU WR Trey Quinn also recently announced he will be playing for the Mustangs.

SMU is coached by Texas A&M alumnus Chad Morris, entering his second season.

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema announced Evans’ plans to transfer earlier this month.
