Arkansas coach Bret Bielema was back at the Catfish Hole on Thursday night, hosting his weekly radio show.

The fans in Fayetteville have plenty to be excited about with the Razorbacks on a four-game winning streak — and it showed.

A packed house at the local lounge had plenty of questions for the coach of one of the hottest teams in football.

Earlier in the week coach Bielema made noise when he suggested that there should be a built-in Big Ten vs. SEC matchup during the regular season. Obviously, the interested Arkansas fans wanted to know  more.

“Back at my days at Wisconsin it’s something that I suggested,” said Bielema, who coached there before coming to Arkansas. “It’s just a way to lock into the game.. Something to keep the fans engaged.”

An SEC vs. Big Ten matchup every season could give fans a chance to see which is the stronger conference and help determine the most deserving of making the final four.

With so much drama each Tuesday when the Playoff rankings are announced, it’s not the worst idea the coach has ever had.

Thursday’s show started off with a rendition of the Arkansas fight song as the energy it in the room was evident from the very first question.

Bielema was asked whether he was surprised at the Razorbacks’ late charge.

“Big games. Late games,” he said. “I thought our guys handled adversity very well. The way they started the second half. … I thought our guys played really well.”

Arkansas’ offense cannot be stopped. The team has scored more than 200 points in their past four games, and RB Alex Collins is rushing for over 130 yards per game during the win streak.

“Our offensive line is playing better and better,” Bielema said. “The telltale sign is our defensive line because we hit their QB over and again again. It will be interesting to see how much juice their guy has at Ole Miss because we hit him pretty good.”

The Razorbacks left Baton Rouge with five sacks, eight tackles for loss, and “The Golden Boot” in a 31-14 beatdown of the once No. 2 ranked LSU Tigers.

Arkansas takes on Mississippi State in its third straight game against a talented SEC West opponent.  After losing 31-6 to Alabama, you can expect a hungry Bulldogs team on the field Saturday.

“(QB) Dak Prescott accounts for 73 percent of their offense,” Bielema said. “Relentless kid to defend.”

Prescott leads Mississippi State in rushing yards and passing yards with 25 TDs (rushing and passing) to just 2 INTs, but after watching the Razorbacks hold RB Leonard Fournette last week to just 91 rushing yards, there’s no reason to think the Arkansas defense can’t stop Prescott on Saturday.
