Here’s what Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said after the Razorbacks won 24-20 at Tennessee:

Addressing his team: We said before we left we were gonna hit them harder, we’re gonna outplay them longer and win together. That’s what you just did.

On falling behind 14-0: You know, our guys got great perseverance. We wouldn’t have been through all the stuff we’ve been through if we didn’t have that. I just wanted to take our guys in the locker room at half and talk about what we needed to do. Obviously had a lot of guys execute and do well.

On the difference in the second half: You know, I think defensively we played a lot better. We kept the ball in front of us and didn’t give up big yards. The kicking game came through. Obviously we didn’t feel great about the hold; that’s why we went for that fake. We wanted to get in here and get a win with that killer mentality.

On what’s nextNow we got a week to get together. We got Bama. Then we got a bye week and we’ll see how many we can get here.

On his team’s resolve: You know what? Just keep plugging away. A lot of people have these ideas and thoughts. The offense has been great. My wife and I sat there last night and had, like, 15 letters come in on Friday. Letters of encouragement to stay the course. Keep your faith. A lot of great people involved. Happy for the program, happy for these fans.
