Arkansas is coming off of a bad loss to Colorado State on Saturday. The Rams scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to shock the Razorbacks, dropping them to 1-1 on the season.

Colorado State QB K.J. Carta-Samuels dropped 389 yards and two touchdowns on Arkansas’ defense while Cole Kelley and Ty Storey struggled, combining for just 138 yards.

Arkansas will now turn its focus to North Texas, who visit Fayetteville this Saturday. Coach Chad Morris joined the SEC Coaches’ Teleconference Wednesday to recap the Colorado State game as well as preview North Texas, here’s what he said:

  • We came out, had a good couple days of practice. Really just disappointed in the process and our inability to finish. We will continue to preach that. You learn about yourself through adversity… Our guys care, they hurt and they have responded well.

On the job of Seth Littrell at North Texas:

  • Seth and I have gone way back since his time as coordinator at North Carolina. He does a great job of preparing his guys. He built that program from the ground up and he’s done a good job of recruiting… We have some similarities on offense, they will get the ball out of his hands quick.

Anyone out for the game on Saturday?:

  • Dre Greenlaw is day to day, Randy Ramsey we anticipate to play, Colton Jackson we anticipate will play.

What was the issue in the 4th quarter? is that more mental or physical?:

  • The ability to handle success. We had things going our way and to stay focused and keep doing what we keep saying over and over. The ability to put someone away when you have them down… That’s from a staff standpoint, a player standpoint… We have got to continue to address it, take different approaches.

On how the team has handled adversity after the loss:

  • They’ve handled it really well. They understand there are some things out of our control and that’s one of them… The players have handled it well — players willing to jump to the other side of the ball, walk-ons helping out.

Fans don’t handle losses well, do you look at any of that after a loss?:

  • One loss is not going to define this program or this season but how you respond will define this season.

Does facing North Texas again provide you an advantage?:

  • I don’t know, other than knowing the personnel… We know their schemes but this is a new team. They are different than they were the year before.
