One of Auburn’s top pledges for 2017 is dealing with some tough news.

Kieth Niebuhr of AuburnUndercover.com  has reported that Austin Troxell, a four-star offensive tackle, has torn his ACL again. It’s the same ACL he injured last year in the playoffs.

While Troxell is obviously frustrated by the injury, which occured on the first play of the game Friday night, he says that Auburn assistants Herb Hand and Tim Horton have been supportive.

“They supporting me and staying positive and telling me they’ve got my back,” Troxell told Niebuhr.

The 6-foot-7, 355-pound Madison Academy (Ala.) product is rated No. 88 nationally and No. 4 in the state of Alabama by 247Sports Composite. He committed to Auburn over Alabama on June 18.
