Despite already having secured a Top 10 recruiting class for the 2016 recruiting cycle, Auburn has gained a fantastic late addition to the class by securing the commitment of running back Kam Martin. Martin signed with Baylor but asked out of his national letter of intent following Art Briles’ dismissal.

The top running back was scheduled to visit TCU this week before making his final decision between the two schools but a weekend trip to Auburn obviously won him over and led to his commitment.

Martin announced the news late Sunday evening via his Twitter feed:

The 5-foot-10, 178-pound running back from Port Arthur, Texas is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 7 all-purpose back in the nation and the No. 39 overall prospect from the state of Texas, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Before originally committing to Baylor, Martin had raked up offers from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Texas and Wisconsin among others.

Following the transfer of former five-star running back recruit Roc Thomas, Auburn’s roster is down to two running backs that have a regular season carry in their career entering the season.
