Great news from the Plains, as Markaviest Bryant has signed with Auburn over Alabama, LSU, and Georgia.

The 2017 Under Armour All-American held 27 different offers from several of the nation’s elite football programs, but in the end, the pull from Auburn was too much to overcome for Bryant. The addition was especially big for Auburn, as Bryant is the first true defensive end to join the latest recruiting class.

The 6-foot-4, 226-pound Bryant is rated as a four-star prospect, the nation’s No. 14 weak-side defensive end and the No. 18 overall prospect from Georgia. Bryant took his final official visit last weekend to Auburn.

Check out Bryant’s high school highlight reel to get an idea of how the big linebacker fits into Kevin Steele’s defense at Auburn:

Auburn now has 23 total commitments pledged to the 2017 recruiting class, seven of which are already enrolled and on campus.

  • Auburn adds another Dlineman to the dumpster fire. Auburn leads the nation in top ranked Dlineman flops. They kill at least one every year.

  • Nice get for Auburn. Would have liked to see him with my Tigers.

    • LSU was able to get Chaisson from Texas, and he was rated higher than Bryant, so this was good for both schools. Very nice for LSU to take Chaisson from Texas and their new HC.

  • Too bad you left home. Get ready to lose to Bama and UGA virtually every year. See ya.

  • Must have missed the the first rounders we put in the NFL as DE…

    • You should educate all of us. Who were those DE’s.

      • Well I know Dee Ford was first round, Cory Lemonier was close, sendark marks I think played de and went high, Carl Lawson will b border line.

        • Lawson has a good shot at going in the first round this draft. Marks is s big fellow so I would think he was a DT. I don’t even know who Cory is.

        • Cory Lemonier made one of the greatest defensive plays I have ever seen. In the Alabama game, he forced the QB to lateral the ball on an option end sweep and then tackled the ball-carrier for about a 5-6 yard loss…all by himself.

    • Tell us about Byron Cowart, Montravious Adams and Derek Brown.

      • Adams will b a second rounde and had a good year, brown is coming off a good freshman season, and cowart is moving to Dt because he hasn’t worked out on the end. All have good playerx

        • Second rounders don’t have only 5 tackles in their senior year or play in the senior bowl. Try again.

        • Typo on the tackles. He had 43 tackles. That’s not a second rounder.

        • By the way, here is one analysis.

1/14/17: On the year, Adams had 39 tackles with 8.5 for a loss, 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one interception and two passes batted. He turned in some solid play in the season opener against Clemson and continued that throughout the year. At times, Adams looks like a first-round talent with speed and size at the point of attack, but he lacks consistency. His motor and conditioning are questionable as well. Adams would be a beast on some plays and a ghost for other stretches. He could be a good mid-round pick with flexibility to play tackle in a 4-3. In a 3-4, he could play five-technique defensive end or nose tackle as his weight could be much higher than his listed number.

      • Adams earned consensus all american second team throughout the board, legitimately considered to be a top 25 pick on traits alone and after dominate display at the senior bowl. Carl Lawson is all consensus 1st team all american and will undoubtedly garner a first round grade. Marlon Davidson was all 1st team freshmen all american. Dee Ford was leading the the league in sacks up until his injury and still dominated and will be a pro bowler, and lastly Nick Fairley is top 10 DT in the whole league. I think Auburn does just fine on defensive line.

  • Welcome to Auburn, WDE and good luck for years of success!!!!!!
