Auburn lands commitment from big-time Georgia athlete Jashawn Sheffield
The Auburn Tigers landed their 12th commitment for the class of 2019 Saturday.
Four-star athlete Jashawn Sheffield committed to the Tigers over Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina. The Saint Simons Island, Georgia, native is ranked as the nation’s No. 150 overall prospect, the No. 10 overall athlete and the state’s No. 15 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Listed at 6-foot-1, 178 pounds, Sheffield can play on either side of the ball, but he’s likely to be a safety. Sheffield’s teammate, Jaylin Simpson, committed to Auburn in April.
Sheffield became the fifth commitment from the state of Georgia for Auburn’s recruiting class.
