Paul James, a four-star defensive end from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi, committed to Auburn on Saturday.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound James is rated the top junior college defensive end in the nation by 247Sports. James had 47 tackles and 14 sacks this season. He was fifth among all junior college players in sacks.

James was on an official visit to the school when he committed.

James played for Illinois as a freshman in 2014, but left the Fighting Illini and transferred to Copiah-Lincoln earlier this year.

He was a three-star recruit coming out of Norland High School in Miami in 2014.
