Though new Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham hasn’t played a football game in nearly two years, he’ll be counted on to lead the Tigers to the promised land this fall.

However, he plans to keep the same pregame tradition he had at Baylor — watching old movies on Friday night.

According to AL.com, Stidham takes movie recommendations from coaches and watches them on Friday night before he goes to sleep:

“I’ve kind of had this ritual every Friday night before a game, I started this at Baylor and I would ask the coaches for like a movie, for movie suggestions,” Stidham said. “So, I’d watch a bunch of movies from the 80s and 90s just to see what they would recommend.”

Before a big game, it’s important to get a good night of sleep, but sometimes — especially for quarterbacks — your mind can go into overdrive thinking about all the things you need to do the next day.

However, with classics like “Tommy Boy” and “Road House” on hand — just two of the movies Stidham mentioned — it’ll be easier for him to distract himself and get some much-needed rest.

Auburn takes on Georgia Southern at 6:30 p.m. Central time on Saturday night. The game can be seen on the SEC Network.
