Seven wins. That was Auburn’s victory total in 2015, and that’s how many games the Tigers are expected to win this season, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index.

Do we agree with that prediction or not? On a game-by-game basis, let’s see how we think the Tigers will do in 2016.

Clemson, Sept. 3

Loss: In Auburn’s season opener at Jordan-Hare, the ACC’s Tigers are favored by a touchdown. They will probably win by at least two scores.

Arkansas State, Sept. 10

Win: Even though the Red Wolves went 9-4 last season — including an 8-0 mark in the Sun Belt Conference — this is a game Auburn should win. Home-field advantage will be key.

Texas A&M, Sept. 17

Win: The Aggies have a defense led by ends Myles Garrett and Daeshon Hall, but they are breaking in a new quarterback in Oklahoma transfer Trevor Knight. Playing on The Plains will be the difference as the Tigers survive by a field goal.

LSU, Sept. 24

Loss: Auburn’s home-field advantage won’t be enough in this game. Leonard Fournette goes up against his team’s former defensive coordinator in Kevin Steele.

Louisiana-Monroe, Oct. 1

Win: What a difference two Louisiana schools make. This should be one of the Tigers’ easiest games of the year.

At Mississippi State, Oct. 8

Loss: Auburn’s first road game of the season will be a close one but a tough one. After beating A&M by a field goal, the Tigers will lose by a point here.

Arkansas, Oct. 22

Win: Auburn returns home after its bye week with an inspired performance against the Hogs. The Tigers pounce on a rebuilt offense led by new quarterback Austin Allen.

At Ole Miss, Oct. 29

Loss: Auburn heads to Oxford, where it has a hard time with Rebels QB Chad Kelly. Eight games into the season, the Tigers will be 4-4.

Vanderbilt, Nov. 5

Win: With all due respect to the Commodores, this should be Auburn’s easiest SEC matchup of the season. The Tigers will have five wins with three games left.

At Georgia, Nov. 12

Loss: No one has to tell the Tigers how tough SEC road games are. New Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart gets his first win over Auburn.

Alabama A&M, Nov. 19

Win: The Tigers record their sixth victory in what should be their easiest game of the year. That’s a good thing, because the Iron Bowl looms next.

At Alabama, Nov. 26

Loss: Auburn falls in Tuscaloosa to finish 6-6 in the regular season. Just like they did last year, the Tigers will qualify for a bowl and win it to go 7-6, matching FPI’s projected win total for them.
