On Tuesday, former Auburn basketball assistant Chuck Person is expected to plead guilty to a conspiracy charge, per the Associated Press.

Person was originally scheduled to go to trial in June and originally pleaded not guilty to six federal charges in November 2017, but he has changed his plea. Person’s plea deal is expected to be similar to the others of two to 2.5 years in prison.

The former Auburn assistant and NBA player was one of 10 arrested and charged in the bombshell investigation.

Person was fired from Auburn in November of 2017 following his indictment for the charges. He’s accused of receiving about $91,500 in bribes from a Pittsburgh-based financial advisor to steer clients the advisor’s direction when they reached the NBA.

Person was quoted by prosecutors as telling one player: “The most important part is that you … don’t say nothing to anybody … don’t share with your sisters, don’t share with any of the teammates, that’s very important ’cause this is a violation … of rules. But this is how the NBA players get it done.”

The federal case has certainly shaken up college basketball.
