Gus Malzahn reveals winner of Auburn's backup QB position
Jarrett Stidham will be Auburn’s starting quarterback for the 2018 season, and he’s in the conversation to win the Heisman Trophy.
However, heading into fall camp, the Tigers still needed a backup quarterback, and guys like Malik Willis, Cord Sandberg and Joey Gatewood, among others, were competing for the job.
On Sunday, coach Gus Malzahn revealed that Willis had won the job and would serve as Stidham’s primary backup during the 2018 season:

Willis completed six of his seven passes for 45 yards and a touchdown last season, and also added 16 carries for 221 yards and another touchdown.
Sandberg, Willis and Gatewood are all talented players, and when Stidham eventually leaves for the NFL, Auburn’s quarterback battle will be a very interesting one to watch.
