What Gus Malzahn said after Auburn throttled Mizzou
The Auburn Tigers throttled the Missouri Tigers Saturday night 51-14.
Auburn improved to 3-1 on the season.
Auburn’s offense racked up 482 yards, and RB Kerryon Johnson rushed for an FBS-tying five TDs in 2017.
Here’s what Gus Malzahn said after the game:
- Auburn’s defense played outstanding against Mizzou.
- RB Kamryn Pettway wasn’t 100 percent, which is why he didn’t play Saturday night.
- Malzahn said RB Kerryon Johnson did some really good things against the Tigers.
- Malzahn said that Auburn “needed a game like this” and added that he’s glad backup QB Malik Willis played.
- Malzahn said that Tre’ Williams and Javaris Davis weren’t 100 percent. He expects both back against MSU.
- He added the offenses’s goal was to run for 200 yards and accomplished that feat.
- Malzahn said last week was an “embarrassment” after coughing up five turnovers. There were none Saturday night against Mizzou.
