At times, it’s easy to forget that some of the most recognizable players in college football are still, well, in college. The best players are constantly in the spotlight and have their actions heavily scrutinized, but it’s something that comes along with the privilege they’ve worked so hard to attain.

While most students spend the Memorial Day weekend by the pool or at the lake with friends and family, Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham will continue to hone his craft. According to a report by 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello, the Tigers’ transfer quarterback is in California for the long weekend to attend Jordan Palmer’s “QB Summit.”

The QB Summit has a three-day camp meant to help players become better quarterbacks by working with a mentor who knows what it takes to reach the highest level.

Palmer’s camp has this stated approach: “QB Summit is built on the idea of mentorship. Most NFL quarterbacks have benefitted in some way from being mentored by an older player. We create an environment where high school players work alongside, learn from and connect with; experienced quarterbacks who’ve handled themselves on the field and in the classroom.”

Last year, notable quarterbacks such as Josh Dobbs, Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson were in attendance.

Stidham was a notable standout in his first A-Day game with the Tigers, and he looks like the odds-on favorite to become the team’s starter for the fall. Regardless, the redshirt sophomore seems dedicated to becoming a better player, which is something Auburn fans will love to hear.
