Auburn is in the midst of a banner National Signing Day on defense. The Tigers hauled in pass rushing phenom Jeffrey Holland on NSD, who announced his decision live on ESPNU.

Holland is another talented piece in Auburn’s signing class. The Tigers landed the No. 1 defensive end in the country, Byron Cowart, as well as four-star DE Prince Tega Wanogho Jr.

The No. 8 outside linebacker in the nation and the No. 18 player in the state of Florida, the Jacksonville native is another Auburn victory over SEC rivals. Holland is an outside linebacker, but his specialty is getting after quarterbacks. He has SEC-ready size at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds and is an explosive athlete capable of blasting past offensive linemen.

Holland could be a great piece for new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp. He’s not quite big enough to play defensive end, but can certainly provide a solid option in obvious passing situations. Holland has potential for a nice sack total as a true freshman if he gets on the field and could develop into a dominating force as he becomes a more complete player.
