Some unfortunate news to share as Auburn defensive back Kendarian Handy-Holley has reportedly retired from playing football.

Handy-Holley has had an interesting path to this point as the Alabama native signed with Minnesota out of Jackson High School in the 2017 recruiting cycle but transferred closer to home to Auburn following his freshman season with the Gophers. He was forced to sit out last season due to concussions and hoped to make a return to the field in 2019 but that apparently won’t be in his future.

According to Sam Blum of AL.com, Handy-Holley has retired from football but will stay on at school in order to finish his degree. This news won’t affect Auburn’s scholarship numbers for the coming season as Handy-Holley was projected to be a walk-on player for the Tigers.
