Auburn’s 2017 season included big wins against two of the team’s biggest rivals – Georgia and Alabama – but AU fell one short of the rivalry hat trick thanks to a pesky LSU team that managed to pull-off an epic comeback. SDS columnist Connor O’Gara: Here are the Playoff implications at stake in the Tiger Bowl

Not every mid-September game between ranked teams has Playoff implications (looking at you, 2017 Tennessee-Florida game). But the one that will take place between No. 7 Auburn and No. 12 LSU this Saturday at Jordan-Hare does have some big-time potential Playoff implications at stake.

The winner will, in my opinion, be deserving of a top 4 spot in the Associated Press Top 25 next week. With 2 victories over legitimate top 15 teams in the first 2 weeks, no other team would have a résumé as good as that.

SDS News: Paul Finebaum shares early prediction for Auburn-LSU game

Appearing on WJOX 94.5, Paul Finebaum shared his thoughts on the LSU-Auburn game, including his prediction.

“This is once again the game of the day, and these are two teams a year ago were kind of all over the place,” Finebaum said. “I like Auburn right now because of what I’ve seen from them. You can’t compare beating Miami to beating Washington. I think Washington was a far-more significant impactful win. I don’t want to take anything away from LSU — they looked really good, which no one quite expected them to do. But this is a pretty tall mountain to climb to beat Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium.”
