Malzahn relays handful of developments surrounding Auburn program
Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn spoke to the media on Friday for the final time before his team departs for Tampa for its Outback Bowl showdown with Wisconsin on New Year’s Day. The team is scheduled to travel to Tampa next week.
Malzahn had plenty of updates for the media as his team prepares for the Badgers, some regarding this year’s bowl game and some regarding off-the-field storylines involving his program.

Regarding bowl preparations…
Malzahn now here. "As far as bowl prep goes, I really like our energy. … The last two days have been more (about) Wisconsin."

Malzahn says Coates, Frost, McKinzy and Avery Young have submitted paperwork for NFL draft evaluation. D'haquille Williams has not yet.

Regarding the recent death of Jakell Mitchell…
Malzahn said they will practice Saturday morning and then head to Jakell Mitchell's funeral, which will start at noon local time.
