Will Muschamp has a new toy committed for the class of 2016.

Five-star defensive end Marlon Davidson (Montgomery, Al.) committed to Auburn over Alabama and others. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound prospect is one of the best players in the country. 247Sports Composite Player Ratings have Davidson as the No. 24 overall player, the No. 2 strong-side defensive end and the state’s No. 3 player.

Davidson was an Auburn-Alabama battle to the end, with the Tigers winning his commitment Friday, and he’s announced he’ll be an early enrollee and get a head start for next spring football.

Davidson’s older brother, Kenneth Carter, played at Auburn and is currently on Gus Malzahn’s staff.
