A 19-year-old female plaintiff filed a motion with the Circuit Court of Lee County to dismiss a request for a protective order of abuse against former Auburn offensive lineman Landon Rice Wednesday, according to the Ledger-Enquirer.

The plaintiff’s attorney, Jeff Herman, along with local counsel Michael Strickland and Philip A. Thompson originally filed the motion with the court last Thursday morning.

The Ledger-Enquirer reported that court documents filed Wednesday claim the plaintiff filed for a protective order following an alleged harassment by Rice that included her family and friends. The motion filed Thursday stated that the harassment eased off following the plaintiff’s previous request for a protective order.

The woman decided the order would not be necessary as long as Rice promises to stay away from Auburn’s campus.

“The Plaintiff has not been contacted directly or indirectly by Rice. Further, through counsel, Rice has indicated he will not be present on Auburn University campus or attend any University event,” the motion states.

Rice’s friends allegedly threatened the plaintiff after she filed a complaint of first-degree rape with the Auburn Police Department on July 27. The former player’s hearing was originally scheduled for Oct. 4.

Rice, 19, left the football program in September. He rated as a four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 8 tight end and No. 225 player for the 2016 national signing class.
