The Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 will be wide receiver Sammie Coates’ last game at Auburn, according to 247Sports.

Citing sources, Justin Hokanson of AuburnUndercover.com reports Coates will declare for the draft on Monday.

The junior has 1,733 career receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. His 206-yard performance in this year’s Iron Bowl was a record mark for the rivalry game.

“I think they’re both similar in terms of where they’ll go, maybe late one but probably early to mid two,” ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. told reporters on a conference call earlier this month. “But like I said with strong workouts, I think you saw all these receivers this year do a great job, some were major bargains. That could be the case with these two if they drop into the second round with late first not remote, but a possibility.”

A native of Leroy, Ala., Coates sits at No. 10 all-time on both the career receiving yards list and career touchdowns list at Auburn.

Coates received his degree on Saturday and will play in the Senior Bowl next month in Mobile, Ala. Coates had been projected as a late first to early second round selection. Fellow wideout Duke Williams is also deliberating his future.

Coates earned second-team All-SEC honors this season after amassing 717 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He was hampered by a knee injury suffered in the season-opener against Arkansas.
