Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham recently addressed whether or not he may be contemplating leaving the Tigers early for the NFL.

Stidham is draft eligible and some services rate him as one of the nation’s top QBs for the next level. He threw for 2,827 yards and 17 touchdowns this season.

“I love being at Auburn and I’ve got a long way to go before anything like that happens,” Stidham said, according to a report from 247Sports’ Auburn Undercover website.

While Stidham didn’t specifically say he wouldn’t declare early for the draft, he indicated that he’s still got a lot of work to do in college. The Tigers’ 28-7 SEC Championship Game loss to Georgia helped make that apparent for him.

“There’s a lot to learn from a game like this,” Stidham said. “I’ve got to do a lot better job. Obviously the first turnover, that was completely on me, I should have just tucked it away sooner. The defense made a play and got the ball. That as a big momentum shift in the game. It starts with me, so I’ve got a lot to work on.”

It seems like a good possibility Auburn’s gunslinger will be back next season.

His 7th-ranked Tigers play No. 12 UCF in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Jan. 1 in Atlanta.
