Georgia defensive back Sanders Commings was arrested early Saturday morning on a domestic violence charge. Jimmy Williamson, UGA police chief, said Commings and his girlfriend were in an alteration around 1 AM. Witnesses flagged down police officers shortly after the altercation took place.
Alabama has reportedly hired Doug Nussmeier to replace former offensive coordinator Jim McElwain, who accepted the Colorado State head coaching job.

Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn is reportedly taking the Arkansas State head coaching vacancy. This will be the second coordinator Gene Chizik has lost in a matter of weeks, after defensive coordinator Ted Roof went to UCF. Malzahn was rumored to be a hot commodity this season, and he turned down the Vanderbilt job last year. This is certainly interesting; however, he will now be a college head coach.
The BCS bowls always assign neutral crews from other conferences for their games. But I bet they never anticipated having two teams line up in the same conference for all the marbles…of course they didn’t.
University of Florida offensive coordinator Charlie Weis has officially been named Kansas’ next head coach. Weis leaves Florida after only one year, hired by Will Muschamp. Florida has a very good recruiting class committed right now, and this could be devastating at this particular time. Weis went 35-27 in his only college head coaching job
