We here at SDS know that recruiting is a year-round sport, and we love it just as much as you do. Let’s take a look and see how well each of the teams are recruiting for 2013. Georgia and Florida are off to a hot start, while Arkansas and Kentucky are struggling. Here are your recruiting updates for May:

Some of the top recruits in the 2013 class were in Orlando last week for the Nike SPARQ Combine. SEC commitments were the highlight of all the players who were present:

Really cool video from Vanderbilt as a behind-the-scenes look at National Signing Day for the Commodores and James Franklin. This program, whether you want to believe it or not, is on the rise.

This class feels a lot like Missouri’s to me. A&M signed a few big-name guys, and the rest of the recruits will start out pretty far down the depth chart. RB Trey Williams is one of the best running backs in the nation, and I think Williams will be a significant contributor next year.

Steve Spurrier continued to prove why he’s one of the best in the business in the 2011 campaign. Not only did he put together back-to-back 10-win seasons, he did it in 2011 after losing his QB and RB in mid-season. Fortunately for the Gamecocks, they only have to replace a few guys on the offensive side of the ball.

The Vols are looking to get back to the state of a premiere SEC program, and recruiting is a major part of the process. With the 2012 class, Derek Dooley is looking to build his young team back into an SEC power. We grade his 2012 class and analyze how well the Vols filled their needs this year.

Next up on our look at each SEC team’s signed recruiting class, we take a look at the LSU Tigers. Where are the holes that LSU needed to fill? How well did they replace key losses? We have the answers and the grade for the 2012 LSU class.

Vanderbilt had a great recruiting season for James Franklin. There is a ton of energy in Nashville right now surrounding this program. Check out their signing class report card:

Next up on our SEC 2012 class grades is Mississippi State. The Bulldogs lost a lot after a disappointing 2011 season, but Dan Mullen’s team managed to do a nice job filling needs headlined by the five-star Quay Evans. We grade the Bulldogs’ 2012 signed class.
