Ed Walker

Ed Walker coached football and basketball at Ole Miss in the 1930’s, including eight seasons as the Rebels’ head football coach from 1930-1937. Ole Miss played in the Southern Conference during Walker’s first three years on the job, registering three straight losing seasons in that time. The Rebels made the move to the SEC beginning in 1933 and had their best season under Walker with a 9-3 record in 1935. Ole Miss was 3-1 in conference play that season and eventually accepted an invitation to play in the Orange Bowl. His career record as a head coach was 38-38-8. Walker passed away in 1972 at the age of 71.
