Eli Abbott

Eli Abbott was the head coach of the University of Alabama football program for four years over two stints in Tuscaloosa. He coached the Crimson Tide for three seasons from 1893-1895, going just 3-9 in that time. He led the Tide to two winless 0-4 seasons in 1893 and 1895, but went 3-1 in 1894. He returned as Alabama’s head coach in 1902, posting a 4-4 record. He also coached Alabama’s baseball team in 1896. Abbott passed away in 1943 at the age of 73.
