Stanley A. Boles

Stanley A. Boles is best remembered as the University of Kentucky athletic director who hired Adolph Rupp to coach UK’s basketball team. Boles served as athletic director from 1917-1933, but also served one season as the head football coach and head men’s basketball coach at Kentucky. In his lone season as football coach in 1917 his team compiled a 3-5-1 record. Boles passed away in 1961 at the age of 74.
