The short answer is whoever is the best player will contribute. There's plenty of examples of true freshman, redshirt freshman, and sophomores who start or contribute significantly at Alabama. The argument that depth is going to prevent guys from playing has never held water other than at couple of positions like QB and OL.

Even as a Bama fan, I did find it ridiculous that Saban made the comment about draft grades causing our team to lose focus. He does look at anything (small or big) that causes his team to lose focus as an issue, but he also should deal with smaller stuff like draft grades internally and not complain in the national media about it. The road-games comment is a joke. Apparently neutral site games that benefit both schools financially and for publicity is a bad idea? I'd prefer to see more home and home games, but saying that it's some huge advantage outside of those two main aspects is idiotic. Also, why can they not get off the late season cupcake games (saw this in Mandal's article). Nobody complains about the Big Ten and Big 12 playing nobodies in the first 3 weeks of their season (unless they're playing in one of those evil SEC related neutral site games), but because SEC teams play one of their nobody teams at the end of the season everybody hates them for it. The fact is that everyone else is missing the entertainment that the SEC has provided for 12-13 weeks out of the year and complains because they're not doing it then.
I think you missed the point. Having QB depth for one team is great for them, but does not increase the quality at QB for the entire conference. As well, all 3 are not All-American candidates in reality, just All-American caliber. There's only one ball for one QB, so someone has to get hurt/suspended for anyone other than their starter to be an All-American candidate.
That would be because we won the Coaches' NC in '73, which at the time was an official NC even though they selected their champion before bowl season. As much as Auburn fans want to knock Bama for claiming 15, we still have the most in the AP era with 9 AP Championships.
Can't disagree more. I'm part of the millennial generation and I hate all of the new "flashy" uniforms and I know I'm not the only one. The neon crap just doesn't belong in CFB or football in general. Looks too much like what you would see on a soccer field than a "gridiron".
