The Marshall Thundering Herd were undefeated almost the entire season, playing a schedule similar to FSU, but they were never ranked..
Well Georgia did win an SEC Championship.... almost 10 years ago.
Why would they need multiple pro teams, when UA's stadium hold 30,000 more people than Arrowhead or Faurot Field as well as putting the most players in said NFL... As much as I hate the Tide they do good work. Even Jordan-Hare seats more than Arrowhead, pathetic really.
I agree, but I think I would really like to watch the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Beef ‘O’Brady’s Franklin American Mortgage Godaddy.com bowl. Ha.
When you score 44 points in a game against one of the nations top defenses... You should win. A C rating defensively is a really kind rating. Giving up over 8 yards per rushing attempt and 55 points (21 of them in the 4th quarter) will cost you every game.
Well when you put 44 points on of the best defenses in the nation it is hard to blame the offense. Sure they could have scored more in the red-zone but when you score 44 you should win.
Djh should look at UA's history. DuBose -3 Years, Franchione 1-year, Price- LOL, Shula- 2 1/2 years. Since Bear Bryant, Stallings and Saban are the only coaches to last more than 3 years.
I don't think it had anything to do with Gus' play calling. Putting up 44 on the Tide is no easy task, but allowing any team to score 55 with a one man band is.
There is a difference. How do you mold not only a Qb but an outstanding young man if he never faces any consequences for his actions?
Regardless of where his recruits are, Florida is loaded with talent as can be seen with their defense. The horrid offensive production has been whats doomed Florida.
I don't really think this was needed. I know your ass was probably still really chapped after losing last year and Auburn winning the SEC title and going to the Natty, but come on show a bit of class.
I don't know if you have noticed or not.. but our defense needs some fire. Muschamp has that fire and passion Auburn needs. This is nothing against Coach Ellis, his scheme is very flexible and overall well designed but if the players don't have a fire in their belly they may as well not even walk on the field. Georgia rammed the ball down our defenses throat the entire game. It's hard to blame our offense when Georgia had the ball for 6-7 mins a drive and end with points. If you put so much pressure on the offense to score every possession (like the USC game) eventually you will get burned, especially when the oppositions defense shows up to play. Lastly, in 2013 our defense was ranked 87th in the country.. Let me repeat that.. 87th in the country. This year is better, not by much, at 64th.
I think you need to go back and look at history a little bit. Both years Muschamp was at AU his defense was in the top 10 which is much much better than the 87th we had in 2013 or 64th currently.
Well you did lose to Vandy last year so there is that. Who knows maybe you end up like Auburn and find someone who puts some fire back into the program.
I could think of one reason. He is paid 3.2 million a year to win games. While he has a decent record in the SEC he lacks rings to prove it.
Guess you're cool with the last SEC Championship being won 9 years ago and losing the last three.
Looks like Mr Good Bull Hunting needs to go back a few frames where you can see CAP down with the ball in both arms.
Too bad most of Bama's "Championships" were won before the TV was even industrialized. Seriously.. 4th in the SEC and ranked #20 but claim it as a NC. Bah haha!
The sounds of excuses to make up for the missed call that cost LSU the game, or at least extend their chances.
Games in the SEC are battles, blown calls give a team an edge they don't deserve.
Sure there are missed calls but when a defender grabs a receivers arm with both hands that is unacceptable. When a targeting call is reversed despite it being targeting to the letter in the rule book, unacceptable. When there is clear evidence that a player has possession of the ball on the bottom of the pile and it doesn't get overturned, unacceptable.
What did they deserve? They deserved a missed call because the refs made the right call against the Rebels? If you can look anyone in the eye and say Tredwell did not fumble before the end zone then I will accept that AU deserved it. What happened to Tredwell is tragic and was in no way and intended result, it was two players giving 100% with the game on the line.
Having a clear targeting penalty reversed and a clear fumble recovery by CAP stand for A&M, those are hard to dismiss. And what about DePriest grabbing the LSU receivers arm WITH BOTH HANDS on the last play in OT? DePriest was beat and LSU lost because the ref lacked the balls to throw the flag.
Wrong, there are battles in the SEC every week, some coming down to a battle of inches. Calls missed like these destroy those games, especially when there is instant replay. There is no reason for the officials to have so many questionable calls this year. Every Bama fan would be singing a different tune had they called pass interference like they should have.
No player shall target and initiate contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent with the helmet, forearm, fist, elbow or shoulder. When in question, it is a foul. (Rule 2-27-14) Doesn't have to be helmet to helmet, he was defenseless and the hit occurred above the shoulder.
It shouldn't matter if the review shows clear possession with the player down on the ground.
How is that luck? The review was clear as day. Same with the targeting call, it was textbook targeting and was overturned.
This article said none of that... I guess you're making things up to make yourself feel better?
“A lot of stuff happens at the bottom of a pile. I’m not going to say exactly who had possession of it." Basically stated he didn't have possession of the ball but something happened that gave him possession. One would assume if he can't tell you what it is, it wasn't legal or nice.
Call it dirty if you want, but remember A&M has its fair share of cut blocks and personal fouls.
