Just a guy who happens to like South Carolina football.

I'm starting to wonder if SDS is actually an SEC fan site...
Is Vandy spending more than 1 million on Mason? That hire has been so good for yall...
He was let go at Florida because that's usually what happens when a HC is fired. And you know who else was bad at the NFL? Spurrier and Saban... Success in the NFL doesn't mean jack in college. He had great offenses at Duke, he runs an offense that most of our QB's our suited to run, and let's be honest, some of our best success was with Shaw basically turning any play into an option play.
Well at least the media got their wish, Georgia Florida and Tennessee are "back on top"... I thought that was the sure sign that the East was on its way back up?
Yeah, it's not that it was hard to recruit, it's that it's hard to recruit from the golf course...
The problem with the length of time argument, is Muschamp doesn't have a buyout out as of yesterday evening. So they had a reason to not announce him if he was the guy. I'm not convinced this is a bad hire. I think it's better than Rich Rod and Riley would have been. The guy was only a couple of mistakes (and a TON of injuries) away from being good, the offense he tried to run didn't fit Florida, he never got that OC to go with his defense, and he clearly needs to have some good offensive recruiters to evaluate the talent on that side of the ball. Look back at some great coaches first 4 years (Spurrier and Holts for instance) Muschamps record is right there with them, and he has an 11 win season to boot. '13 they were absolutely wrecked by injury which exposed a lack of offensive depth going into '14. He wasn't my first choice by far, but if he learned the hard lessons at Florida he could be a very good HC. Besides, just last year it seemed like everyone and their mother wanted Tanner to give the guy the HCIW tag to get him as the DC...
Ever stop to think they called Dantonio and he said not interested? He's busy being nationally prominent and probably going to the playoffs with a program he built. Why would he move to a school to rebuild, in a region he has little recruiting contact with? Alma mater isn't the be all end all.
"But coach, Carolina's punter did it against them!" LOL. I'm not gonna lie, all season every time Kelly went to punt I was hoping to see him just take off...
And how to make fun of "Conference pride" while ignoring it when they do it...
It wasn't all obvious, like I was unaware of anyone who expected Hoke to just magically our defense, so that's news.
That and when people bring him up as a reason to be cautious of Smart.
Deebo showed us all that he can be the guy going forward. Injuries definitely held him back this season but get a decent consistent QB throwing balls and I think Deebo will become a serious threat and key playmaker for this team. Good to see him have a big game what with Coopers impending departure for the NFL looming.
Every time I see these all I can think is I'm glad I'm not in that fan base. Go support your team, especially on senior day. Win lose or draw those guys have laid it on turf for four years for your entertainment...
Not to mention from what it sounds like most fans hate the idea of firing him. This is possibly the worst decision in the history of bad decisions. Hope it's a lot of BS...
I hope he waxes A&M, and then right in the middle of the field, turns, looks up at the AD, takes a big bite of grass, and throws up the biggest F YOU in history... Lol.
SDS would have a LOT of unwritten stories then...
Thank you. Nobody said anything because NOBODY CARES.
Well they could face the school that they had faced every year since they joined the SEC. I never really thought the USC Arkansas game was a rivalry, but for a conference that's so hard up on keeping historical rivalries in tact it seemed like a really arbitrary and off the wall decision to switch USC to A&M just so Arkansas could play Mizzou based on the fact that they boarder each other...
I always thought it was weird that they decided to split up USC and Arky just to pair yall with Mizzou. What, because Missouri boarders Arkansas?
Exactly, first we had "sources" that said the deal was done, now we have "sources" that say he's removed his name from consideration. Nobody's sources mean jack until a press conference is called.
It's representative of the name if you don't know what a Palmetto tree looks like...
Facts? What are facts?
I wonder if this came from Tanner's coach side. Knowing the recruiting side and how this is playing onto kids decisions. I hope this is a sign that he has his guy, or is close. Hope the recruites do hold off on jumping ship right away, at least find out who the next coach will be. And hopefully we will all know soon.
Hey, at least this is some good Gamecocks news today. Congratulations Dylan!
Two words. Everett Sands. When one of your coaches scored a TD for the Citadel in that game, he will surely not let you underestimate your position and the fact that you are most definitely not guaranteed a win.
Suites bring in the big bucks, and the big bucks pave the way for more seats. The next major capacity increase at the stadium is going to end up being well in the 100 million dollar range I'm sure, it'll be a while.
He was over looked because they considered him a product of the system, the fact that he's playing well in the same system doesn't really prove anything, he may still be a product of the system. Now I am all for trying to get the top guys in your state, but if a guys playing style doesn't fit what you're trying to do or you don't think he will translate to your system you try to find someone who you think is a better fit. Also not defending SC for passing on him, let's be honest, Spurrier just wasn't recruiting guys and the guys that committed they didn't try hard enough to keep. He never tried to talk anyone out of changing their mind. I'm OK with telling a guy "when it comes down to it you need to go where you feel is the best choice for you." but that can't be your opening statement... Or your only statement...
Orth hasn't necessarily separated himself so much as Mitch and Nunez got hurt. Orth has proven he probably should have earned more interest coming get out of HS though, I'll give him that.
Those pesky hard numbers... Good thing SEC haters are also bad at math, or else they might have to change their tune.
The fact that they entered into a contract where the coach could resign mid season and they would have to pay HIM is ridiculous... That's just stupid.
