I see three ranked opponents on ND's schedule, 2 home/1 away. ND 2015 Schedule Texas at home W 38-3 at Virginia #15 Georgia Tech at home UMass at home at #12 Clemson Navy at home #8 USC at home at Temple at Pitt Wake Forest at home Boston College at home at Stanford Compare to Mississippi State's 6 ranked opponents 3 home/3 away. MSU 2015 Schedule at Southern Miss W 34-16 #14 LSU Northwestern State #6 Auburn #16 Texas A&M Troy LA Tech Kentucky at #21 Missouri at #18 Arkansas at #17 Ole Miss Another.... #22 Arizona, 3 ranked opponents 2 home/1 away: UTSA W 42-32 at Nevada Navy #13 UCLA at Stanford Oregon St at Colorado Washington St at Washington at #8 USC #24 Utah at Arizona St TCU: 2 ranked teams 1 home/1 away Michigan St: 2 ranked teams 1 home/1 away UCLA: 3 ranked teams, all away Boise St: No ranked teams remaining (How are they even ranked??) Add in a conference championship vs. a Top 10 team, and there's just no comparison to an SEC schedule.
Re-$ellers are making millions off Auburn and every other school. Wish there was a way to stop them.
Seriously. He's got a machine...a football factory... that competes for a national championship every year. He's worked his whole life to get to where he is now. Why would he leave other than to retire? It's nonsense to even let the idea enter your brain.
Seriously, what does it take to get these boneheads to shut up? Let's take into account ONLY a team's conference schedule... How many Top 10 and Top 25 teams does the average SEC team play in their SEC schedule each year compared with an ACC, Big 10, or PAC 12 team? But that's not good enough (see 2004 Auburn), let's schedule in an Arizona State or a Louisville or an Oklahoma or Wisconsin in week 1. Oh no wait, you played San Jose State so you are weak. Idiots.
Good point. If you think about it, this is not a playoff at all. It's a tournament. A playoff starts with 16 teams like every other division of college football.
Auburn and Ole Miss have to play each other, so one will be eliminated. Alabama and Mississippi State have to play each other, so one will be eliminated. Ole Miss and Mississippi State have to play each other, so one will be eliminated. Alabama and Auburn have to play each other, so one will be eliminated. Florida State plays no ranked teams the rest of the season. By the end, it will be FSU, Oregon, TCU, and Michigan State that go because the SEC teams will all beat each other out. THAT is why the SEC is the best conference.
I can't find where the NCAA revealed Jameis Winston's punishment.
Does anyone have to LOOK for ways to criticize Muschamp these days? Seems like he's providing plenty of ammo.
Biggest difference between Muschamp and Zook is Zook could recruit top talent. Muschamp needs to go be a coordinator at a FCS school. If you cannot win games with the talent and resources at the University of Florida, you are bad.
LOL!! Beating one of the worst teams in the country means you're one of the 25 best?
You are spot on. I've been to the Auburn @ Starkville game four times and each time, I'm astounded at how different the sound is from the hype it receives. If State fans would yell when they ring the bells, it would be loud, but they don't. They just ring the cowbells, so it is nowhere near as loud as a game at other stadiums. Home team scores a TD in Auburn = deafening roar for several minutes, random high-fives with strangers, etc. Home team scores a TD in Starkville = tin-ka-tin-ka-tin-ka-tin-ka... I just shook my head the first time I was there.
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the coolest, the Mississippi State one is a 1. The rest are zeros. Remember when people used to talk about football instead of fashion?
They can try all they like to make it look fair and objective, but the reality is that TV markets and money are going to pick the four teams.
The comments here are priceless! This list is bunk if Mike Shula is not on it. Anybody remember his loss to Mississippi State IN TUSCALOOSA? The "run Darby up the middle 3 times and punt" playbook? Remember the "keepmikeshula.com" web site? The Finebaum caller named "Shula's gold chain"? I mean, there have been bad coaches t a lot of schools, but Shula was a next level sucky coach.
Anybody remember Auburn getting left out of the championship game in 2004 and ESPN citing "they played the Citadel" as the reason? How is FSU still #1?
Indeed. Georgia dominated a quality opponent in Clemson and TAMU dominated a top 10 SCarolina. Oklahoma dominating LA Tech earns them a spot? Florida State surviving OK State by 6 points on a fumble recovery in the fourth quarter earns them a spot? Nonsense. Do teams actually have to EARN their way in? Or do they just have to not lose their spot like with the BCS? I hope it's the former.
Looking forward to the "SEC, SEC" chant after the game.
