Comment on Out On A Limb: Would Navy Make Sense As The SEC’s 14th?

They have to keep Air Force and Army. WIth a 9-game SEC season likely it would leave one 'cupcake' game and Notre Dame just might fit. After all, this is their 8th straight year of this being "the year they turn it around." [View]
Comment on Arkansas Beats Troy, But How Good Are The Hogs?
Sep 19, 2011 5:16 PM
Alabama does nothing similar to Troy offensively. AJ McCarron's most prolific passing game was half of the tosses that Troy attempted. I know that teams say they don't look ahead but we know they all do. This time it showed. Once the Troy game was out of reach (31 - 7) I think the Hogs got bored. (They had the same look as NFL players during pre-season.) This weekend's game should be another classic. God I love the SEC. [View]
Comment on All Hope Is Not Lost For Arkansas With Davis’ Injury

DJ had great games @ Florida and @ LSU two years ago (14 carries for 107 yards & 9 carries for 78 yards). The year before he had 18 carries for 127 against LSU (with Casey Dick at QB) so he is capable against some of the best SEC defenses. He has the ability to be shifty and with 215 packed into 5'9" will hit you low and bounce off. He doesn't have to be Knile Davis in order to be successful. If Tyler Wilson can continue to show an ability to hit 65% of his passes and make good decision over the middle, DJ will have plenty of room to run. There were three games on the schedule that were critical: Alabama, A&M, and LSU. Those three haven't changed and I don't think losing Knile has changed the outlook of any of the others (with the possible exception of S. Car.) We've taken the last two from A&M, three of the last four from LSU (when the LSU teams were higher ranked each time) and haven't lost to S. Car. at home since 2005. So circle the date with the Crimson Tide because if they can pull it out early in the season (before the Tide offense gels and just runs people into the ground) then there is a good chance we'll see the Hogs in Atlanta. Comment on The Texas A&M SECede Movement!
Aug 14, 2011 11:18 AM
Arkansas' biggest out-of-state alumni association and Texas A&M's second biggest alumni association are both in Dallas. Dallas already shows the 11:30 SEC broadcast on one of its local stations. A&M would solidify the market while TCU can't fill its 40,000 seat stadium at home. [View]
Comment on The Texas A&M SECede Movement!

Why would you want to bring aboard a school that has been the driving force behind the death of two conferences? (Southwest Conference & Big XII) The SEC may hate each other on the field, but they get along in the board room to the betterment of all the schools. I think this has been a major factor in so many teams being competitive rather than just one or two good teams like most conferences. [View]
Comment on 2021 SEC Championship Game: Texas A&M vs Clemson

Considering the SEC is looking to maximize its revenue Texas A&M is a good addition as they have a huge following in the Houston area. By adding in their alumni association with the Arkansas alumni association there would be a significant foothold in Dallas which already shows the 11:30 am SEC game on one of its local stations. If you add A&M I would then vote to add Virginia Tech. Grab the DC market and create a pairing as both schools have long para-military traditions. Since 16 teams WILL happen at some point, the SEC should go first and take the pick of the litter. Sticking with the idea of money and big markets that means Mizzou and the St. Louis/Kansas City markets fall into line. I think Florida is the main program in the state and the Tampa/Miami/Orlando markets are already on board. To get a foothold in another good TV market you need to go into North Carolina. The Tar Heels would never give up the basketball rivalry with Duke (and given their recent NCAA issues it makes no sense to add them now) so the Wolfpack could come on board and bring the Raligh/Durham markets.
