While Saban runs the team as a whole, part of why he gets recruits isn't necessarily him either. He recruits the best assistant coaches, and position coaches, and coordinators in the country to work with him. For example, Kirby Smart (one of the best defensive coordinators in the country) left for a head coaching position in Georgia. Instead of wallowing, he hired Jeremy Pruitt, the person responsible for the number one rated defense in 2013 at Florida State when they beat Auburn for the last BCS Title Game. While Saban is an incredible head coach and one of, is not THE BEST, current college coach, The reason he succeeds is because he has the best coaching staff, and because of that, his age will not be a factor.

The Big 10 may have beat out the SEC in this stat, but the REAL thing you should be looking at is who they play....

I get that he didn't really set records or get drafted, but that was entirely due to a career ending injury. Kinda upsets me that Tyrone Prothro is not included in this list. I mean he has a plethora of incredible clutch plays and would have been a top 5 draft pick had he not had that horrible injury.
