I'm happy my squad is in the Top 10, but now we have to finish out strong and prove we deserve to be up here. Tough games ahead against Florida, and Arkansas, so we need to bring our A++++ games to beat them and not be upset.
I cant believe we vaulted a 1-Loss Louisville Squad. But I'll take it nonetheless. Go ZOU!!!
Yeah.....Our defense always concerns me in tough games against high ranked teams. We need them to play lights out this Saturday for us to go into Athens and win. A little luck will also be good too, cause playing on the road is always rough.
yeah he is pretty solid, but he also needs a huge win against a top ranked team to get people talking about him in a more higher regard. Until that happens, he will just be a solid player.
I'm hoping my Tigers can come out and get a Dub against these Dawgs. Eli still needs a big win against a high-ranked SEC contender to stamp his arrival, but until that happens the hot seat he will stay on.
I'm so glad he is coming back for the senior season. We needed him to come back badly. Odom needs to truly go hard for recruits this year, so we can rebuild for after Drew and company leave for NFL. I know he padded his stats this past year against teams that were not as good as Missouri, but this next year Drew has to play better against the Conference opponents, and top tier teams for his draft stock to truly take fold.
Yeah, I don't like it when players leave teams at the end of seasons for reason to not get hurt, and I don't like how the Coordinators left the boys to do their thing either. I always say finish out what you signed up to do, and at the end of the season, then evaluate and decide this, but not during the season. It will always leave a sour taste in teammates mouths when you leave this way. This is from a players standpoint and especially from a coaches side as well.
I take this as a compliment. Pinkel and staff have done a fantastic job of keeping our players decent. Because I remember back in the day in the Big 8 and 12, against some of our other teams we used to have serious game where we were more focused on trash talk then the actual game. So I am glad in the new conference we actually are conducting ourselves in a better manner towards all the teams. Id rather our team take care of business and talk crap after the game. Let your game reflect your feelings, win or lose. But hey that's my opinion. I just don't like when people celebrate when they are losing. It's like celebrate when you catch up. But not when your down by three or more touchdowns.
This game will be a tough one for MIZZOU! Facing a tough pass rush will get any freshman QB rattled quickly, and it will also benefit Florida's secondary with so many hurries. Also the blowout loss at home in the swamp from last year is still fresh in those Florida players minds so they will be ready for this game. I know they circled this game this year on the calendar, because no team ever forgets who blows them out at home. This game will be a grind for us because our receivers and running backs are just not as consistent as they have been in previous years, and we need to be on our A+ game to get this W. I like Drew Lock so far, but this game will show us quite a bit about his poise and ability to make things happen in a hurry. Also the receivers need to be ready for quick catches because with Florida bringing in all of those pass rushers, their will not be a lot of time to make plays develop. It will be interesting how Pinkel gets prepared for this game. I cant wait, Go Mizzou!
That Pinkel stat, I didn't know that. Nice to know though.
We call this being Baptized by Fire! Lock, you will need to take your time and try and try to get into a rhythm early. This game will be no joke. But he needs this type of game to either show-up and elevate his game to where it needs to be, or use this game as fuel to prepare for other games in the future. Either way I am glad its happening, but sad to see Maty on the sidelines for a game of this magnitude. We need the leadership on the field for this game. Mental grind this week! The pressure, and the buildup, and its homecoming too!
Thank God South Carolina didn't....glad my squad got the victory. That is all.
Charlie Strong is done. After the press conference, I wouldn't doubt if he was cleaning out his office. After I witnessed the first quarter score and how many yards Texas had after one quarter, I knew his tenure would be over. That type of loss will linger around for awhile.
Glad the game is over, but we still have alot of work to do. I am glad we got this game to bring up the spirits of the team after last weeks loss. We needed this game badly. I am just glad we took it. Hopefully Maty Mauk can deal with his personal issues with family and get his head back in the game, but right now I like Lock as the backup to come in and take care of business for now. The team will be his next year, so this is good experience during conference opponents just to get some footage of him in situations on tape to study. I know South Carolina is struggling, so I wont sit up here and say we did things to them in a boastful way because we didn't. We won, and that was all that was needed, and it did not matter how it came about. I was just glad we showed up today, and the score was not in favor of the other team. Go Zou, and now lets hope everyone else in the East loses so that it keeps us in play for another week to reach the championship game.
I honestly think this game will be very close. It will come down to who coaches the better game and which players actually show up. Too many intangibles to guess who wins this game. I know Kentucky has not beat us in SEC play, but we are pretty much depleted at offense, and we need someone to step up to have a chance. I will never count my team out of it, and I feel with both teams struggling on offense it could be a tough day for both squads. I am expecting a low score as well, unless someone comes up hurt from either team and that changes the tide of the games scoring even more. This game is a toss up in my opinion.
I like my Tigers in this game, and it comes at the best possible time. Kentucky and Missouri are struggling with Offense, so that could be a toss up, plus I know we haven't played a Serious team yet to make any real judgement, but the defense looks good so far, if they continue to do this in conference play, then I will upgrade that statement to great, but until then a good is OK with me. They have kept us in games, but we need the offense to pick it up because our defense cannot save us all the time. Conference play will prove that.
11-game Road Winning Streak on the line for MIZZOU! Lets continue that streak to 12. Lets beat those Kats! Go ZOU!
What if Maty Mauk wakes up this game, what if the wide-outs decide to start catching passes, what if Russell Hansborough comes back to form in this game, .......what if. Too many scenarios to run in this game, but I still like my Tigers to win.
I like the fact that Kentrell Brothers is in the mix, but until MiZZOU gets into conference play, I will stay reserved. Now if he puts up those numbers against the conference rivals, then I will say this is impressive.
Ready to see how the defenses play in this game.
Yeah this article is hilarious. I am a MIZZOU fan till i die and just hearing the title of this had me rolling. I will say this once. If my squad MIZZOU, can run into Knoxville and win since entering the SEC, then what issue could a top team like Oklahoma who used to always beat us, have with Tennessee. I'm with SevenT, on this one, Tennessee needs a couple of more years before it can say this without laughing themselves. I mean I know any given Saturday, any team can upset any team, but this happening, I just don't see it yet. No Disrespect to Tennessee fan base, because they are still in a rebuilding phase with Butch, but he is doing a better job of turning around perception of that team, and that's a start. Just my opinion.
Typo, I meant to say,"The only three teams who have stomped us", LOL!"
I honestly wish we could play LSU and Miss St more often, because currently they are the only two teams we have not played since joining. I am realistic about my team, and I know we don't bring in the recruits to get pre-season mention quite often, and we also don't look as good in regards to talent on the team by team comparisons, but I know we win games when we need to. We are a middle of the barrel team in regards to the SEC right now, and we are learning and growing from where we used to be. Last I checked the only teams we need to play now are LSU and Miss St. so we can see where we stand against them. Alabama, Texas A&M, and Georgia where the only two teams who have stomped us during SEC Play, other than that, we were in shoot outs with the rest. The Auburn game was just a shootout, so I don't count that as a beat down because we did put up 42 points in that game. Outside of that our team looks pretty decent compared to the rest of the SEC league, and for anyone to say otherwise is fooling themselves, check the win/lose column cause its probably in our favor.
I'm excited for the first practice. I gotta see this team play together now. I can't wait until they get some chemistry down.
Back in the Big 8, and then Big 12 days, MIZZOU put in work against other conferences during bowl season. Hopefully we can keep our winning ways, and start putting up some solid wins against the better teams of the SEC.
Hats off to Indiana. They were the better team during our game.
Steckel leaving might have hurt us a little. I hope it didn't for the sake of the program, but it will play a huge factor from here on out with this recruit.
