Mass Communications (Broadcast/journalism) major at Lander University (USC for 1 year). May be cliche, but I eat, sleep, and breathe SEC sports, in particular my Gamecocks. Born and raised in Columbia, SC... living in Greenwood, SC for school. 24 (my age, not the TV show).

I think you would be hard pressed to say Arkansas has a better Football program than South Carolina. Back in the day maybe, but in today's world of football, they are at best on even ground. Arkansas trumps South Carolina on the hardwood, but South Carolina trumps Arkansas on the diamond. And I do not know why Baseball wasn't thrown in, it is one of the 3 major sports after all... not to mention, it would greatly assist SC's numbers :P
At least South Carolina will always have Baseball! haha And womens basketball, and equestrian.
Essentially what is left of this season is improving for next. I love Dylan as a person, but I think best case is that we throw Mitch out there for considerable playing time. Get him ready for his time come next season
South Carolina... Because, they are 3-1 (2-1) with 2 victories over top 25 teams and a conference road win... in complete control of their own destiny... and yet they are essentially being ruled an after thought in the SEC East right now (or at least before Mizzou lost to Indiana they were). Nobody has played a more fierce first month of the season than the Gamecocks... and they are 3-1 and are in COMPLETE CONTROL OF THEIR DESTINY.
He better be welcomed back with a crown and a throne at the end of the red carpet he steps out on.
sorry, that was to wrong person.
We also play Clemson (every year)… and consistently play a solid mid major school (ECU, who is a top 25 team right now)… Yes South Carolina schedules a smaller in state school every year (to help them out financially) and a genuine cupcake. What school doesn’t have ONE cupcake on their schedule.

Quit over reacting, dang. South Carolina beat a team that usually gives them fits in their first road game of the season by 14 (21 if not for the trash time TD). And 14 if those points allowed was on bad kick coverage, a fluke (especially considering the same kick coverage held Gurley in check the previous week) Look, it was upset special this weekend with South Carolina facing a trap game after a huge emotional win, playing a team that barely survived UMASS. Get off their case, they are 2-1 vs AP top 25, who else is that good against top flight competition this early, especially with as many holes to fill.
Negative... Davis is a Heisman caliber running back... the plan has to be to run Davis and Wilds then rest them late and let Williams run through a tired defense and Carson take screens and win the race to the corner
This must be the season of ridiculous over reactions... minus the two kickoffs and the trash time TD... South Carolina played a great game, especially considering it was this teams first road game (first road game for a lot of the starters) and it came against a team that always gives the gamecocks headaches. Hey take all that with the 2 kickoffs and trash TD yet we still win by 14? I'll take it
and quite frankly... the holding call, I think the refs just called the wrong number. The lineman to 54's right hooked the defender under the arm... thats a hold.
The refs looked over them, and since Richt didn't go on and on about how they were deemed bad calls... they were good calls. Since the headbutt came on a 3rd and good bit, it was indeed a big call.
I would say Shaw and Garcia are near dead even... Shaw gave 3 11 win season... but Garcia brought home a 10 win season and the only SEC East title... so it's "big success vs consistent success"
I think saying south carolina has inferior talent to UGA is an overstatement. Carolina may have less experience... but in terms of talent, they are pretty even
Arkansas and MSU... my bad dawg fans, auto correct
Yes the west is insane... but acting like the west is way above the east is laughable. The west is beating up on bad competition (outside of A&M beating Carolina). The East is 6 strong with Vandy being the only bad team in the entire conference. I think it is funny to say Arkansas and MSN would be top dogs in the east... let's wait till they prove it against top 25 competition
It ran out right before the snap... but this is why the game or any sport will ever be perfect. It was so close by the time the ref saw 0 and looked down to the field the ball was being snapped.
No fan base in the SEC has stayed more loyal through mediocre decades like the Gamecock fans have. We even got dominated for the most part by the razorback teams you call mediocre.
No pharos cooper or skai moore?
Boy... if you talked to a Clemson fan, you would be shocked to see South Carolina ranked as tied for the fewest arrests. They seem to think USC moonlights as a prison system.
WOW... Alshon at #10??? Not sure those 9 above him made as much of a splash in the time spent around college football, and definitely not in the pros. And who did more than Sidney Rice did in 2 years???
It is realistically possible to have 2 losses and still win the SEC and be right in the thick of talk for a playoff spot... most likely scenario this would happen is, if we lose @ Auburn and @ UF. Those 2 losses would likely be against top 15 teams (with Auburn being likely a top 5 team). UF would have to lose @Bama, vs. LSU and vs. UGA. UGA would then lose to us and Auburn, which would give us the tiebreaker against UGA, and send us to Atlanta as a 10-2 team. We would then have to beat what would likely be a #1 or #2 Alabama team for the SEC title, which would put us at about #5, or with some luck around the country, inside the top 4... clearly in the discussion for a playoff spot.
If we lose to UF with an extra week to prepare for them, that is terrible... straight up. I have no reason to believe UF will have an offense that can score consistently on a solid defense with an extra week to prepare for them (and by this point, USC's defense will be very solid, the freshmen and new starters we will depend on will be SEC vets by this point)
Looking at that schedule, by far the game that worries me the most is @Vandy... with the tendency Carolina has of playing down one game every season, combined with this game coming in between UGA and Mizzou, plus how hard Vandy seems to always play us... has me downright nervous about the game.
possibly the worst comment I have ever seen.
In all honesty, it wasn't one of the top 10 moments... it was an incredible game. But a missed FG is not a great play.
LOL at Notre Dame and their cute little players. Notre Dame plays 4 ranked teams (by pre season rankings)... South Carolina plays 4 ranked teams. (USC also plays the two teams right outside the top 25, Mizzou and UF, which I believe to be way better than UNC) These guys are so desperate for attention they call out the SEC because they know it will get them publicity.
