Okay Chris. It is obvious you are a Vol with 2 calls in the Gamecock/Vol game that you somehow thought were controversial? Not either was even close to being controversial. SDS losing what little credibility they have.
I don't believe this story at all. I live out west now and don't get to many SEC games anymore, however I think it's a rare experience that someone might get spit on at a game. I know it happens occasionally, but 'stopped counting at 20 times'? I think you'd have a hard time getting spit on 20 times at any stadium in the SEC even if you were wearing a F*** UGA T-shirt and talking crap to everyone you saw. Certainly with that much spit flying, almost everyone would claim a similar experience, but that's not the case. You may have had a bad experience or 2, but this story stinks of major embellishment. If true, I'm glad I live out west where I'm not able to attend games very often.
Oh, here's a link to the video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWKMi8z7RfQ
Fingers in whose mask? Please show me a finger in Gurley's mask on this video. The only finger in a mask is Gurleys to a Gamecock player after the headbutt. Diggs came in after the headbutt and gave Gurley a shoulder in defense of his player getting headbutted and that only drew a swing from Gurley and an additional shove. Gurley was the first and last to initiate contact and no way he shouldn't have gotten a penalty.
Wouldn't have argued that. Refs screwed up, but it did look classless to throw stuff on the field. But, before you Georgia fans get all high and mighty about it, please look in the mirror at maybe the team that started the aweful tradition in 1893. From Wikipedia: "In 1893, Tech played against the University of Georgia for the first time. Tech defeated Georgia 28–6 for the school's first-ever victory. The angry Georgia fans threw stones and other debris at the Tech players during and after the game. The poor treatment of the Blacksmiths by the Georgia faithful gave birth to the rivalry now known as Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate." Not the last time that has happened either.
Absolutely. 2 bad spots by the refs. Wilds had a first down and even in the video above you can see Dylan's knee come down on the 50 with his full body in front of him. The ball had to be at least a foot past the line and probably 2 feet. Even with the UGA favored spot the football gods came through by a millimeter. There's plenty to complain about the refs had the game gone either way. They're always bad it seems, but you can't claim they cheated you here when they clearly helped - intentional or not.
Definitely bad calls against the Gamecocks that probably outnumbered the bad calls against UGA, but UGA's big Gurley run was the result of one of their holds, which was marginal, but if you hold and get caught that is the risk you take. How about the 2 blocking below the waist calls against USC? I can see where one might get called but for Roland to get a blocking below the waist call on a play where he's trying to make a tackle on the ball carrier was absurd. Gurley should have been ejected according to the rules, but glad he wasn't. I love the way he plays, but at the very worst, that should have been offsetting penalties and 4th down. Instead, UGA is marching down for a score. Big screw up on the refs part there. Those are the type of game changing plays that SEC refs continue to make in all games against almost all teams - although rarely against Bama it seems. Anyway, great game and very exciting to watch.
