I know Auburn-SC is not a rivalry like UGA-AU is. With that disclaimer out of the way my experience at Auburn was the exact opposite. I have never met such a classy group of fans. Everywhere I went people were offering us food saying "welcome to Auburn" and wishing us luck in the game. They were almost too nice… It was sort of strange. After the game (it was the cam Newton year and we lost on a last-second miracle drive) Auburn fans were all telling us, "great game," "y'all should have won," and wishing us luck the rest of the season. It really was kind of odd…
I believe it. I have been to 10 of the 14 SEC campuses and while every fan base has their ass-holes, UGA is the only place where these kinds of things happen repeatedly. I hate Clemson with a passion but even their fans treat gamecocks better.
This kind of stuff was happening the entire game, for both teams. The officiating this season has been atrocious.... Win anyways I think the reason they are highlighting this play is because it was the last play of the game. Also, it's one in which there is no official discretion involved; with a holding call or pass interference the official is able to decide if the instance truly constitutes a penalty whereas in this case it's black and white. It was a fun game to watch and both teams played their hearts out. The better team won and we all move forward.
Man... This was such a fun game to watch! As disappointing as it was, watching my Gamecocks lose, my hat's off to all of the players involved. It was a hard fought, back-and-forth, slug-fest of a game that left even the losing fans happy. I really wish the cocks could put together a complete game; solid defense, high flying offense, and mistake free special teams. It looks like we wont get to see that this season. Just beat Clemson! Go Cocks!
That is ridiculous. Didn't Louisville's uniforms say, "Tha Ville" across the front, last season?!
I'm surprised too! My reasoning: It's a Thursday night game so far fewer out-of-towner's will be able to attend. On top of that, aTm is over 1,000 miles away! I can only imagine how difficult it would be for an A&M fan to justify that trip - many would have to take at least 2 days off of work and buy an expensive plane ticket.
Links to "Top 10 OL" directs to top defensive linemen on all pages. Can you all fix, please?
I know that I'm biased and it's impossible to look at anything without a tint of garnet. Having said that, Alshon should absolutely be higher on this list. I am also surprised Sydney Rice did not make the list. While Cobb was a great player, I don't think he was one of the best "receivers" of the BCS era; he was an amazing athlete but not a top 10 receiver.
