Lattimore's knee looked like a nunchuck when he had his injury. If memory serves, he tore A/P/M/L-CLs. I feel certain that hyperextending your knee by ~20° did some serious damage to Chubb, but I doubt it would be quite as catastrophic as Lattimore's injury. At least I hope not. After consulting my medical team, I bet he's jacked up his ACL and LCL. Maybe torn meniscus too. Hope he heals quickly and completely. By all accounts, he's a really good dude (like Lattimore).
I didn't say that Georgia was worse, and I didn't intend to imply that. I'm pretty sure that every team has its embarrassing fans. And while I'm sure that there are plenty of people who will want to extend the football competition into a game of "Who's Got The Least Classy Fans," that's probably a lot less useful to society than each team trying to make their own community/city/school more civil.
Glad to hear you had a good experience. You can thank us by losing one of your next two games, maybe??
Agreed. And I've seen Florida fans act similarly. And, yep, Georgia fans too. I'm pretty sure the only team whose fan base I don't have some negative association with is Vandy.
My varied thoughts on this guy's experience: -I doubt that there have been any peer-reviewed studies on which fan base is the worst, but I think it's safe to say that EVERY big football school has their share of really rotten apples, maybe especially in the SEC. I'm sure that, based on the collective experiences of everyone on this board, we can safely say that humanity is capable of horrible behavior, especially when sports, alcohol, and inferiority complexes are involved. -I wonder what bar they were in. I have a short-list of guesses, and they're all bars that I avoid like the plague even on non-game nights. -Spitting on people? Freaking animals. If I'm in Athens and I see you spitting on someone, I'm going to call the cops and report you. (This isn't specific to Game-Day in Athens. Don't assume it's fine if it's Wednesday in a non-Athens city.) -I'll be an armchair psychologist/sociologist and venture a guess that the type of UGA fan that would be a jerk to begin with would probably be harboring some extra anger/embarrassment over the Florida beat-down. Combine that with some extra cockiness from the Kentucky win and Gurley's return, and you've got a powder keg of butt-holery just waiting to explode. -I grew up going to Georgia games and I'm a UGA grad. So I've seen enough to not be absolutely shocked to hear that some Georgia fans were absolute A-holes to fans of a visiting rival. I *am* a little shocked to hear how non-stop and widespread it was. -I've been to a lot of Georgia games in my life, so I've seen a lot of bad behavior from Georgia fans. I have always assumed that, human nature being human nature and all, that every fan base has a similar percentage of fans that will behave similarly. -My bet is that this guy and his friends had the sheer bad luck to be in the direct vicinity of a string of several of the worst GA fans. I'm sure that some Auburn fans had a great weekend (other than the game itself) and would tell you they had the opposite experience. I hate that they got the worst of the town and school that I love. -I'd encourage other Georgia fans on this board to avoid taking this guy's experience as a personal indictment. If you and your friends don't act like this, then you're not the problem. Keep doing what you're doing and try to influence as many other Dawg fans to behave like adults as well.
Here's what I think really happened: -Todd probably took more than $400. -Allen is in fear for his life (which is probably a legitimate fear, which is ridiculous), and wants this all to go away. -The NCAA has taken enough heat over the ridiculous rule that they're probably happy to let sleeping dogs lie (pun) and let the suspension serve as a face-saving [for NCAA] slap on the wrist, and not continue investigating.
Somebody find the white male that jumped in immediately after that racial slur was uttered and punched the accuser and give him this season's MVP. He potentially kept Gurley from doing something that any reasonable person would have done, but would have likely screwed our season royally.
