Haha, who needs to outrun him when we can just stop him from running in the first place? [View]
Comment on Just Wait ‘Til Last Year

Having been born in 1990, I was too young to remember Alabama's 1992 national championship. The only thing I had to go on was from what my mother told me: "You we're only 3 years old at the time, so I'm not surprised you don't remember it. But every time we (Alabama) would do something good, and I would start jumping and yelling, you would just look up with a smile and laugh at me." Oh for me to be so naive. Several years and many triumphs and defeats later, I found myself attending the school that I had always dreamed of going to in Tuscaloosa. I was terribly excited, even though I was going to end up working during my time there instead of marching in the Million Dollar Band as I had originally planned. Either way, I was happy to finally be on my own, and looking forward to cheering my favorite team on as best I could. That sometimes meant things like asking my boss if he would let me leave early so I could catch the season opener against Virginia Tech, or watching "Mount" Cody on a tiny computer monitor in the back of the restaurant, block Tennessee twice to preserve our undefeated season. But the moment I found out that I had a ticket to the 2009 Iron Bowl, I made it a point to request off for that whole weekend. I had received this ticket courtesy of the girl I was dating at the time, who was an Auburn student. That meant, however, that my ticket would land me right in the Auburn student section. I was discussing with one of my friends, "Man, if we lose this game, I might not make it home." So the days passed, and finally it came time for me to make the walk from her apartment to the stadium. I remember walking through the throngs of Auburn fans who would each give me a "Why are you here, Bama fan?" look, and crossing the street while being yelled at to, "Get outta the road, BAMMER!" I took all of this in stride, as I knew the real talking was done on the field. We made our way up to the stands and I could see an ocean of orange dotted with crimson every now and again. I already felt unwelcome when I took my spot, and it only got more uncomfortable from there when Auburn took it to 14-0 in the first quarter. Time and again we responded to comeback, and time after time they would pull ahead. Not one single person had sat down for the whole game, not even halftime. The intensity was climbing, and I began to wonder if we could really lose this game. Well, it was certainly not out of the question. And then one of the greatest things I have ever witnessed, happened. With 8:27 left in the fourth quarter, we started The Drive at our own 21. Richardson, Julio, sack, Ingram, Julio, Julio, Richardson, Julio, and then Richardson for a big gain down at the 10. I was beginning to feel that sense of excitement, and that sinking feeling in my stomach was slowly going away. Then, with 1:29 left to play, McElroy rolled it out to Upchurch for the touchdown. I could not begin to describe the level of happiness I had at that moment. I could feel my phone going off in my pocket which I knew was my mom texting "ROLL TIDE!!!" but I didn't want to check it for fear of missing something on the field. After the failed 2-point conversion, my heart sank again with the knowledge that all it would take was one pass to end it all. The Hail Mary. Everything seemed to slow down as I saw the ball sail from Chris Todd's hand...only to be batted down by two of our players right in front of the Auburn student section. The Alabama section went absolutely nuts! I have yet to sing Rammer Jammer louder than that night, behind enemy lines and surrounded by Tiger fans. I knew right then and there, that this was our season, and nothing was going to stop us from the SEC and national titles. I would finally have my own season to remember as an Alabama fan. Roll Tide. Comment on Can Alabama Win The BCS Championship Again With A New Quarterback?

Fantastic article sir. It's good to see an article that puts things into perspective for once, instead of the usual "utter dominance" that a lot of fans shout. Granted, I'm still hoping for a dominating season myself. Roll Tide! [View]
Comment on Is Florida Trying To Intimidate The SEC With Muschamp Picture On 2011 Team Poster?

This poster is poorly put together and I feel like Muschamp's eyes are staring straight into my soul... I do think this Florida team is on the rebound though. If not this year, then most definitely the next. [View]
