The East has been in a slump the past few years - for the longest time before that it was the stronger division and the West was weaker. These things are cyclical - any change creates as many problems as it solves. This at least creates a clear winner: win your division, win the championship game. Where as both no-division and four-division options leave room for tiebreakers between teams with no head-to-head comparison. Can you imagine the griping when AU or UA gets passed over for Mizzou to go to the champs when they have the same record, and the tiebreaker was the CFP poll rankings or something else subjective? It'll be rare for both divisions to be evenly matched - but if the West team loses to a mediocre Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky, or Florida (ugh), that's their fault for not getting up for the game. Just like it's UGA's fault for not getting up for the Florida game. That doesn't mean that team doesn't deserve to be conference champ.

You wanna talk hypocrisy? Every fan on here riding their high horses. Every team has players that smoke pot. Every team has players that take money. Every team has fans that are vile homer scum. The only difference between the schools is how the program & fans handle these issues. So don't be classless and hope that your program handles these issues in a respectable manner.

I'm consistently amazed by the logic (or lack thereof) of comparative blame. They're both stupid rules, they both should be thrown out. Gurley isn't better or worse.

I've never seen anything so classless as some of the replies in this thread. Wait... no. I can only hope that the tides shift and we get Spurrier's goat a few times before he retires. Either way it will be enjoyable to watch your program fade back into mediocrity as soon as he does.
